Possibly the best army cooperation a/c of WW2, the Storch boasted astounding STOL performance due to its unique high-lift wing devices. Though frail appearing, the Storch reportedly had a frontline life expectancy about ten times that of the Bf 109. Produced in large numbers eventually exceeding 2000 a/c, it continued life after the war under a license from Morane-Saulnier as the MS 500.
